Certifying our business under ISO 14001:2015 environmental standards is a commitment we did not want to delay any further. And today, it is a reality. After months of hard work and dedication, we were able to integrate the mechanisms and tools needed to certify our commitment to sustainability and compliance with environmental legislation. These standards are as equally demanding as RAFESA is with the quality of our products and the satisfaction of our customers.
Achieving certification under these standards required months of hard work by the whole team, a raised awareness about caring for the environment and explanations about why we needed this certification. As it states in the ISO 9001:2015 standards themselves and as reflected in our Quality and Environment Policy, this is not just another certificate but is rather an extra tool in our box for enhancing the satisfaction of our customers. These standards guarantee our vision of a responsible business in line with environmental needs and ongoing improvement in all areas of what we do. Not only are we committed to sustainable product lines but also to integrating more efficient management processes and models throughout the value chain.
Over the course of the last few months, we have taken the opportunity to re-imagine how we operate – our mind and body – and these times of pandemic are perhaps the best moment to do just that. Who are we and who do we want to be? It could be said that, thanks to these standards, we not only have more respect for the environment but that we have learned to improve and demand more from ourselves. And not just us. Today we can proudly state that we form part of that great family of companies with a commitment to the planet and our future.
The ISO 14000 standards, of which ISO 14001 is part, seek a clear goal: to reduce the environmental impact of our activity. How? Through the demanding environmental measures set out in this regard, which RAFESA was already working towards but has now certified through an external body. Not only does the environment come out a winner but so do we. Every time we reduce our energy consumption, we improve our efficiency while revising and streamlining each part of our processes makes us more demanding, disciplined and rigorous.
