The outlook for 2019
Materials and designs play a key role in the perfume and cosmetic packaging market, since this is the first image the consumer has of a product, thus becoming a decisive element in getting them to buy it. To this end, all firms and companies pursue containers and accessories that are most closely aligned with their values and also keep the cosmetic or perfumer safe. The market trend is moving towards materials which besides delivering technical anaesthetic functions are also sustainable, environmentally-friendly and, moreover, good-quality.
- Glass is one of the most traditional materials in all kinds of products and also has a long record in the cosmetic and perfume industry. Its properties make it the ideal ally in all types of perfumes, since they do not damage the components and it is a reference in deluxe products in the cosmetic industry.
- PET (polyethylene terephthalate). It is a 100%-recyclable material which is also very compatible with most of the components used in creams, lotions, oils and other cosmetic products. PET is now therefore one of the most sought-after and most-supplied materials in the cosmetic industry.
This material is currently going through a major boom, since its size and conception makes it ideal for the application of cosmetic products with a certain density, while also permitting precise dispensing. Aluminium is an outstanding recyclable, biodegradable and lightweight material.
